Eliminator is the worlds #1 axle. They are far stronger than stock and Heavy Duty axles. This is due to a proprietary multi-step heat treating process that provides excellent wear and strength characteristics. The process involves super heating the axle, cooling, then two more heats. This leaves the axles so hard they are not readily machinable or drillable yet can flex without breaking. They are then polished and chrome plated, giving you a product that is superior in strength as well as good looks.
The Eliminator axle comes in a standard length or an extended length, denoted as the 2+2. The 2+2 is a general term referrring to the over stock length. The actual length may vary slightly and most of the extended axles are adjustable by hub rings. Good for widening the tread width, adding stability.
Many of the models come with the patented Posi•Lock system which removes threaded sections from the flexing area of the shaft (a source of crack generation).
Heat treating is just one of the elements, but a very important one, to making a product such as an axle. The best performing metal product, in this case a Durablue axle, is the result of a tremendous amount of research and experience in the area of application (ATV's). Durablue has developed and evolved a multi-step process that began over 35 years ago. So, it is with some amusement that we see some marketing claims about heat treating axles. We want you to know that this process is nothing new for us. Our axles still define "state of the art" and you can bank on it.
